Moar announces next crop of potential Stingers stars
23.07.2012
Australian Born ’93 Junior Women’s head coach and Aussie Stingers assistant coach, Ryan Moar, has announced a squad of 14 to represent Australia on a Tour of Europe next month.
The squad will undergo joint training camps in Hungary and The Netherlands as well as contesting a tournament in Itea, Greece in preparation for next year’s Junior World Championships.
The group has been selected from a number of events throughout the year including the 20 & Under National Championships in January and a joint training camp and test series against New Zealand in Sydney.
Moar’s selections have highlighted the great depth in our junior ranks and the NSWIS head coach is confident his players can achieve great things.
“The squad comprises a good mixture of girls that are training in a variety of state institute programs and development squads around the country,” Moar said.
“Along with squad members from the Australian Born ’94 squad, these girls will make up the bulk of the team for the Junior World Championships in 2013.
“Bronte Colenso, Emily Benson and Cathryn Earl all gained senior international experience with the Australian Barbarians team at the Pan Pacs earlier this year and their addition is great for the squad.”
The team leaves Australia on August 24.
