NORDEK takes seven ACT Water Polo Championship crowns


Nordek Water Polo club has repeated its 2010 success by taking seven from eight crowns at the 2011 ACT Water Polo Championships on Saturday, 26 March.

 “Nordek has shown that they are a force to be reckoned with by claiming their third straight men’s and women’s first grade crowns,” ACT Water Polo President, Andrew Digan said.

“The standard of water polo was high and the ANU Dragons teams really took it to Nordek,” he said.

Nordek led from the start to take the men’s first grade crown 14–9 against the Dragons, while the Nordek first grade women were given a scare by the Dragons, but snuck home the 9–7 win in the final quarter.

ANU Dragons and Australian Country representative, Leah Dodd took the first grade, Best and Fairest award. While, United States import and National League player, Clint McLaughlin was awarded the Alf Tye Best and Fairest medal in the men’s first grade competition.
