Australia Water Polo Inc and its State and Territory affiliates are committed to the development of water polo for young people. Australia Water Polo Inc has developed a comprehensive Sport Education Program for Secondary Schools.  

The water polo program encourages students to participate in a ‘season’ of sport, not only playing games but also being involved in the planning, administration, officiating and the coaching of water polo. Throughout the competitive playing season, students are encouraged to take on supplementary roles such as coach, referee, manager, captain, and table official. This holistic approach aims to develop students decision making, communication, leadership and  co-operative group work skills.
