What made you choose this sport: It combined everything I enjoy about playing a sport. I loved being in the water, as well as the challenge of playing a team sport. The combination of swimming and a ball sport was too much to pass up.
How and when did you become interested in Water Polo: When I was 14 I was introduced to water polo through a friend at school, as the club needed some extra players for the Saturday competition and I was a good swimmer, so I was invited to come along to the games to make up the numbers. It wasn’t until 2 years later that I finally made the switch from swimming to water polo.
Who is the most influential person in your sporting career and why:
My family, mother especially – they make it possible for me to achieve what I have achieved, supporting my endeavours without reward. They essentially are the backbone to my sporting career, without their support my sporting career would not have been nurtured as it has.
