Aussies playing in Ireland Print E-mail
Dublin, Ireland (November 25).— Australian water polo is alive and well and performing well in Dublin, Ireland.

Shane Moraghan already an established Irish water polo international played for top club Sydney University in the 1988 season when he lived in Australia, Kenny Wong a student from the highly prestigious St Ignatius College ,Riverview in Sydney is on a "GAP" year in Ireland represented his school at all levels of water polo in the Sydney and New South Wales competitions and Jim Stitt when at school played for the Leinster schools and when living in Perth,W.A.  played for three seasons in the W.A water polo league for Melville and City Beach and also turned out for Wanaroo W.P.C.on one or two occasions.

Kenny will be returning home to Sydney in early January. Shane Moraghan sends his best regards to all his friends & colleagues in Australian water polo (To many to mention individually)and Jim Stitt sends his best regards to all friends, colleagues & former team mates in WA water polo. Especially the Neeshams & friends at Melville WPC in Bicton & all the lads at the "City Beach Clams" water polo club.

As the boundaries of Europe open up and still more foreign water polo players from top water polo playing countries such as Hungry, Russia, Holland, Italy Argentina ,etc come to Ireland and join Irish water polo clubs clubs. They are along with the former Australian water polo players are all helping to raise the standard of the game in Ireland and especially in the Leinster water polo league.

Any Australians while visiting Dublin (Male & Female) are welcome to join the various club training sessions during the water polo season at the National Aquatic Centre (NAC) in Abbotstown, Dublin.
Training times : Monday & Wednesday nights 8:00pm -10:00 p.m.
Leinster Water Polo season: September –April.
