The incumbent will be responsible for the overall development and co-ordination of elite athletes and coaches within the Centre Program under the direction of the National Head Coach and provide vision and leadership to ensure that Australian Water Polo achieves international success.

Key Selection Criteria for the position include:

·         demonstrated ability and experience coaching elite players from varying backgrounds and at different levels of potential;

·         sound knowledge of international  water polo, trends emerging, and team and tactical skills required to succeed at international level;

·         high level organisational capacity including established and achieving priority outcomes and developing strategic, outcome based planning;

·         demonstrated management experience particularly in the area of managing, working with and assisting other coaching staff and specialists sports science staff;

·         demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to incorporate advice from other professionals working in the program;

·         well developed communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated in group and one on one counselling situations;

·         demonstrated ability to analyse player strengths and weaknesses and to develop and implement individual plans with players.

·         hold appropriate NCAS qualification.
