In a dinner staged during the European Water Polo Championships, Debbie was inducted along with some other water polo people but she was named an Honoree Player.

Debbie, who captained Australia for a period in the 1990s, became the first woman to be inducted to ISHOF for water polo. She is twice a World Cup winner (1984 and 1995), a World Championship from Spain in 1986 and an Olympic champion from 2000.

She remains the only woman to win World Cup, World Championship and Olympic medals.
