Gold Coast (June 17).— Entriess are being called for the 2008 Pan Pacific Masters Games to be held on the Gold Coast from 1 to 9 November. Water polo players are asked to get together a team and enter as soon as possible.
ATTENTION SPORTS CONVENORS: Please send this on to your email lists that comprise potential Masters Games participants and supporters. Entries are now open for the 2008 Pan Pacific Masters Games to be held on the Gold Coast from 1 to 9 November. Anyone of Masters-age can enter one or more of the 34 sports on the program by logging onto www.mastersgames.com.au No qualifying standards or times are required to enter the Masters Games. The only criteria for participation is that the minimum Masters-age requirement for each sport is met. The sports on the program for 2008 include: Archery - Field Archery - Target Athletics Baseball Basketball Beach Volleyball Cricket Dragon Boats Futsal Golf Hockey Indoor Netball Indoor Rowing Judo Lawn Bowls Motocross Netball Polocrosse Rock n Roll Rowing Rugby League Rugby Union Shooting - Clay Shooting - Pistol Soccer Softball Squash Swimming Swimming - Open Water Taekwondo Tennis Tenpin Touch Water Polo An anticipated 10,000 participants from all over the world will compete in the multi-sport event which has stamped itself on the calendar at the beginning of November every two years. The slogan of the Pan Pacific Masters Games is ‘Play it, Live it, Love it!’ which encapsulates the event’s competitive, participatory and social environment.
