You will recall the story surrounding the misfortunes of Nicole Saville, well, the fun day of the twenty four hour swim was hugely successful, raising around $15,000 for Nicole and her family. Thanks to all those people who supported the activities.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who participated in, helped out with and donated to all the 24Hours For Savs events.

For the statisticians among you, here are a few of the nitty-gritty details:

  • Anna Blakie (nee Sandquest) took out the Last One Standing tipping competition with a few strategic picks and a great deal of luck!
  • The 24 Hour Swim saw 151 people swim 7847 laps - a HUGE achievement. This equates to 392 km and would take us from Sydney to Port Macquarie.
    • Gabi Saville took top honours, swimming an amazing 202 laps = 10.2km.
    • Honourable mentions to the 200 (10km) club of Cade Wright, Lizi Simms and Neil Saville.
    • We raised $15,000 for Nicole and her family!!!!!!
Thanks again to everyone who contributed. With an amazing spirit and some hard work we have been able to make a difference.

Many Thanks,
The 24 Hours For Savs Committee
Nicole Saville, an 18 year old member of Balmain Water Polo Club, was involved in a serious car accident on 4th April 2008. She was taken to Westmead Hospital, placed in a coma and has had multiple operations over the past few months. Whilst Nicole is renowned for her fighting spirit, she has a long road to recovery ahead.

We are in the process of organising a 24 hour Swimathon & Walkathon for Nicole in August, which you will hear more about very soon! To get the fundraising for Nicole underway your participation in the LAST 1 STANDING TIPPING COMP would be much appreciated.
