Breakers make a point against Cronulla in Brisbane
Brisbane (March 28).— KFC Queensland Breakers may not be going to the National Water Polo League finals but their international stars helped upset third-ranked Cronulla Sharks at the Valley Pool here last night.

With Aussie Stingers Suzie Fraser (4), Bronwen Knox (3) and Amy Hetzel (3) unleashing their firepower, the Breakers managed an 11-9 win over Cronulla, which also has a healthy complement of internationals vying for Olympic selection.

The nature of the NWPL this season meant Olympic hopefuls were playing overseas while the club struggled at home and this affected KFC more than many other teams.

The Breakers trailed by two in the second quarter before levelling at 4-all by halftime.

The game was poised at 8-all at the final break and again at 9-all early in the fourth period before Fraser and Knox delivered the killer blows.

The third-ranked Breakers men had it easier over Cronulla, winning 12-3 with Aussie Sharks Biller Miller claiming three goals for the winners.

In Sydney, fourth-ranked Drummoyne Devils held off No 6 Sydney University Lions 11-8 at Drummoyne Pool with Devils captain Grant Richardson topping the scoring with four goals.
