Sydney (November 26).— Prospective Beijing Olympians turned on the power during the men's water polo Institute Challenge final here yesterday.
Queensland Academy of Sport men a penalty shootout to defeat New
South Wales Institute of Sport 13-12 in the Sydney grand final.
Western Australian Institute of Sport
claimed the bronze medal, stifling the South Australian
Sports Institute-Victoria combination 15-9.
The Aussie Sharks men’s team will be announced on
Wednesday and immediately fly to New Zealand to contest the Oceania
Olympic Games Qualification Series on Friday until Sunday.
The squad received a two-hour pep talk on Trans-Tasman rivalry from former Wallabies rugby captain John Eels today.

NSWIS taking on QAS in men's Challenge final
Sydney (November 24).—
The powerhouses of Australian water polo will clash in the Institute Challenge grand final here tomorrow.
The New South Wales Institute of Sport and the Queensland Academy of
Sport have shown they are the strongest two institutions in the annual
challenge.
NSWIS was 10 goals better than the WA Institute of Sport on day one and
three goals better than the QAS. In the third round, NSWIS defeated the
combined South Australian Sports Institute-Victorian combination 21-13.
Queensland will be out to upset NSWIS in the final after eclipsing WAIS 10-5 and the combined team 18-8.

NSWIS wins twice on opening day of Challenge

The New South Wales Institute of Sport was the
big winner on day one of the Instittue Challenge here yesterday.
NSWIS beat the WA Institute of Sport 18-11 in the first game and the Queensland Academy of Sport 12-9.
