Western Australian and Victorian Water Polo have made new administrative appointments commencing during September. Ian Fitzpatrick and Jon Sieben respectively will be welcome additions to the sport and bring with them a strong sports administration background.

The Board of Victorian Water Polo is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Sieben OAM to the full-time position of Executive Officer.

Jon will start from Monday 10th September reporting to the Board and will be responsible for the day to day operations of Victorian Water Polo.  Jon will also oversee the delivery of our strategic objectives and externally funded programs.

Jon has very strong credentials and brings invaluable experience to the position and will be an excellent ambassador for the sport of water polo in Victoria.  He has been an elite level athlete as a three-time Olympian in swimming with Olympic gold and bronze medals and a world record.  In 1984, Jon was awarded Male Athlete of the Year and Young Australian of the Year.  He has held various water polo management positions such as the Water Polo Competitions Manager for the 12th FINA World Championships in Melbourne as well as various management roles with Northern Territory Water Polo, Fiorentina Water Polo Club in Italy, and Australian Country Water Polo.  Jon has also held a number of other commercial roles in industry that will be very beneficial to VWPI's stakeholders and sponsors.

WA Water Polo is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Fitzpatrick as General Manager – Operations.
 
Ian brings extensive sports management experience with a particularly strong background in competition and event management to the role. He is currently completing his employment as the General Manager Golf/Director of Golf at the Novotel Vines Resort and Country Club and has previously held various roles at UWA Sport and Recreation Association including Operations Manager and 2004 Australian University Games – Operations and Logistics Manager.
 
Ian commences his part-time employment with WA Water Polo next Monday 17 September ’07.
