Six players have been given probationary scholarships at the AIS until the end of September to prove their fitness. "These 6 players failed to meet our physical requirements and have been given 1 month to prove their value to the squad" said Greg McFadden. The main function of our Residential camp is to prepare us for the Olympic qualification tournament against New Zealand in Brisbane December 17 to 19. We will name a squad of 16 for the Olympics at the end of November with2 additional reserves in case of injuries. The six players added to the original squad are Alicia McCormack, Victoria Brown, Bronwen Knox, Nikita Cuffe, Rebecca Rippon & Sophie Smith. Canberra (31 August): Coach McFadden has nominated the women to make the 2007 Olympic Residential Squad to be held at the AIS starting this weekend. The program will run for approximately three months during which the ladies will be put through their initial preparations for Beijing. At the conclusion of the camp, a team will go to the USA for the Holiday Cup.
