To ensure that a thorough and transparent selection process is undertaken as close as possible to the tour, AWPI intend to conduct a Selection Camp for the tour at a date (likely May 2007) and location to be confirmed in the near future.

A large number of players have been identified at the 2005 16 & Under National Championships (Born 1989 & Later) , Perth, and 2006 16 & Under National Championships (Born 1990 & Later), Adelaide.

However, all players within the age criteria will be considered for the Selection Camp.

Selectors will review player's performance at the following events to determine who will attend the final Selection Camp: 20 & Under National Championships (Born 1987 & Later), Perth (22-27 January 2007); National Water Polo League (November 2006-May 2007); Australian Schoolboys Competition (date TBC) 18 & Under National Club Championships (Born 1989 & Later).

It is strongly encouraged that players participate in some of these competitions if they wish to be seriously considered for the Selection Camp.

This is especially the case for the 18 & Under National Club Championships, which is the age group for the touring team.

Some players may be unsuccessful in gaining selection in their State team participating in the 20 & Under National Championships in Jan 2007.

Players in this situation that have been identified from the 2005 & 2006 16 & Under National Championships should make themselves available for an Australian Youth Team that will be entered into this competition.

If, for whatever reason, any player is unable to participate in these competitions, reports on player performance from State Institute & Academy of Sport Coaches will be considered, as well as those from Club Coaches.

Regular updates regarding the selection process will be distributed when possible.
